Power is what makes this machine tick
The Breville’s electric motor kicks out 700 watts of refined power, spinning the stainless steel mesh basket
at 14,000 RPM. Users have commented how they need to keep the plunger/pusher over the feeding aperture when in
operation due to the power of the machine projecting diced fruit and veg’s out from the top and plastering their ceilings in a fruity collage, yes it’s that powerfull !
Juice extraction
To put this into perspective, you can expect to produce 1/4 of a litre of juice in only 5 seconds of use and seeing as how
the machine can juice 1.4 litres at a time before it is full, you should be looking at around 30 seconds for a full load,
which would not be bad at all if the pulp collector would collect all the pulp in one sitting, unfortunately the Compact Breville uses a closed pulp collecter which will need emptying before you manage to get your 1.4 litres from the machine. The juice is generally good and extraction is effecient for a machine of this diminutive size and price which will easily outgun machines costing much more than the $85 – $90 this will cost you at Amazon.
My Jack LaLane juicer finally wore out after 2.5 years of daily use. I was tempted to buy another - but I liked the way everything including the pulp catcher is all in one unit. So glad I got the Breville.
This thing is POWERFUL, especially compared to "Jack LaLanne". It is so powerful I usually don't even use the pusher except to cover the top so your ceiling doesn't get covered with stuff. Other reviewers have mentioned that tendency.
